 At this years Greenbelt, www.between-the-lines.org.uk, in association with
Hodder and Lion will be freeing dozens of books into the world as a part of the Freedom Books Project at Between the Lines at this years Greenbelt.
What is the Project about?
What happens generally when you buy a book? They are bought, read once, if you get around to that, and then they are relegated to a bookshelf and left, abandoned and ignored to gather dust.
The idea behind Freedom Books is that rather than confining the books to the bookshelf or even worse the dark recess of lofts and garages, they are released into the world so that other people may enjoy also!
I'm not a publisher how can I help ?
There are 2 ways in which these books can be released:
Either give the book to someone you know - like a friend, or work colleague, or one of your children’s teachers,
Or
Leave it somewhere – like a park bench, a bus, café, Doctor or Dentist surgery - and let a stranger enjoy it.
The label inside the book will ask the finder to register the book or visit the website to see if the book is registered and tell us (and you) their thoughts about the book, where they found it and where they released it.
Just think, not only are you allowing books to do what they were created for – to be read – but if you are sending on Christian books, you are also evangelising…so keep your eyes out for any books that look lost, they’re probably just waiting to be found! |
